How are the economies of Canada, Mexico, and the United States similar or different?
politicians and pundits often warn us away from greater cooperation across national borders. You hear how free trade hurts workers. You hear that trading partners take advantage of one another. And you hear that we are losing to China or India, or whichever country fits this narrative best on any given day.
We are told we can fix these problems by turning inward. Buy only home-grown products. Shy away from trade deals. Punish partners with high tariffs. Shut the door on neighbors.
Yet the growth of our economy is linked to the global marketplace. In particular, our close relationships strengthen our domestic economy. And nowhere is this more true than in North America, which remains one of the world’s most competitive economic platforms. An economically vibrant North America, and the continued cooperation, interconnection, and integration of the American, Mexican, and Canadian economies, is fundamental to our shared success.
An economically vibrant North America, and the continued cooperation, interconnection, and integration of the American, Mexican, and Canadian economies, is fundamental to our shared success.
North America on display in San Diego/Tijuana
But we must keep building these relationships to keep growing and thriving. For that reason, the Bush Institute’s North America Working Group has been meeting to identify ways to make North America more competitive.
In fact, earlier this year we spent two days touring projects along the San Diego/Tijuana border. We made the trip to see how closer economic relations among the three nations of North America can produce growth that benefits citizens and consumers on both sides of the border.
As part of the tour, we visited the Cross Border Xpress airport terminal. To the delight of San Diego residents, the sky bridge provides an alternative that cuts the border crossing time to a mere three minutes.
For years, San Diego residents had used the Tijuana International Airport when traveling to destinations where service from the San Diego International Airport was not convenient. The decision was entirely rational, but it also involved an extra 45 minutes or more of travel. Crossing the U.S./Mexico border by car took at least that long.
Then came the building of the Cross Border Xpress terminal in 2015. The facility is located in San Diego and connected to Tijuana International Airport via a pedestrian bridge. For a small fee, San Diego-based passengers can park on the U.S. side, pass through the necessary immigration and customs checks for both countries, cross the border on the sky bridge, process through airport security, and continue to their flight.
Something as simple as a sky bridge highlights the underlying strength of the communities that we share along our borders.
Something as simple as a sky bridge highlights the underlying strength of the communities that we share along our borders.
In fact, that is the more important story here. The Cross Border Xpress, which is privately-owned by Mexican and American investors, serves this cross-border community in an innovative, practical way. This kind of public-private relationship represents the future of economic cooperation along the border.

Which statement about the U.S. Constitution is true?
It named George Washington as the first president of the United States.
It is the longest-lived written plan for representative government in history.
It was created with the idea that it could be easily revised if it was ineffective.
It is modeled on the Magna Carta, which is the world's oldest effective plan for representative government.
Answer:
The first sentence is correct about U.S. Constitution.
What came first, Imperialism or Nationalism? In your paragraph (minimum 4 sentences) response, please cite at least one historical event that explains your theory.
It can be argued that imperialism came before nationalism, as the concept of imperialism has been present in human history for centuries, while nationalism emerged as a modern political ideology in the 18th and 19th centuries. Imperialism is the practice of extending a country's power and influence through colonization, use of military force, or other means, often for economic gain. Nationalism, on the other hand, is the belief in the importance of a shared national identity and the desire for self-rule.
One historical event that illustrates the precedence of imperialism is the colonization of the Americas by European powers in the 15th and 16th centuries. This was driven by the desire for economic gain and control over resources, as well as a belief in European cultural superiority. Nationalism did not emerge as a dominant ideology until several centuries later, during the French Revolution and the subsequent rise of nation-states in Europe.
Furthermore, it can be argued that nationalism emerged as a response to imperialism, as colonized peoples began to assert their own identities and desire for self-rule in the face of foreign domination. This was seen in movements such as India's struggle for independence from British colonial rule in the 20th century.
In summary, while both imperialism and nationalism have had a significant impact on human history, imperialism can be seen as the earlier concept, with nationalism emerging as a response to imperialism in the modern era.
Which of the following accurately explains
why they had not done so?
Answer:
The complete question statement is: Indigenous peoples in the Americas had never eaten pork or beef before contact with European explorers. Which of the following accurately explains why they had not done so?
The answer choices are:
A. Cattle and pigs were considered unclean.
B. Cattle and pigs were found only in Europe
C. Cattle and pigs were too expensive to raise
D. Cattle and pigs were considered sacred
And the correct answer choice is:
B. Cattle and pigs were found only in Europe
Explanation:
Cattle and pigs were not found in the Americas, and Native Americans were obviously unable to consume beef or pork. Native Americans had a mostly vegetarian diet supplemented by hunting or by the raise of animals like turkeys, which were present in the Americas.
The reason for this is that the ancestors of cattle and pigs in the American went extinct shortly after the American continent was populated from East Asia.
Choose two words from each of the following poems in the lesson that you did not know or had to look up in a dictionary: “On Shakespeare,” “L’Allegro,” “Il Penseroso,” and Paradise Lost. Write a new sentence for each word using the same meaning of the word as is used in Milton’s text. Note that some words may have a different spelling in contemporary American English.
Several terms in John Milton's four literary works, "On Shakespeare," "L'Allegro," "Il Penseroso," and "Paradise Lost," have distinct meanings. The term Hyperion alludes to an orb or a Titan deity of light in "On Shakespeare," but Parnassus refers to a mountain range connected with poetry and study. Milton uses Chanticleer to represent a rooster or male fowl in "L'Allegro," and Eglantine to represent a variety of rose. "Il Penseroso" contains the words twilight, which refers to the time of day when the sun has set but light lingers, and pensive, which describes a state of intense reflection. What was Renaissance era?The 15th and 16th centuries are known as the Renaissance, a time in European history that marks the passage from the Middle Ages to modernity.
The Renaissance was defined by an attempt to revive and outdo the concepts and accomplishments of classical antiquity. It was marked by significant social change and came after the Late Middle Ages Crisis.
In addition to the traditional periodization, proponents of a "long Renaissance" may date its beginning in the 14th century and its conclusion in the 17th century.
While many historians today emphasize the Renaissance's medieval elements and argue that it was a continuation of the Middle Ages, the traditional view places more emphasis on the early modern components of the Renaissance and claims that it was a break with the past.
