Generally, Constituting the legal foundation of a polity, organization, or another form of body and typically determining how that entity is to be governed is the primary function of a constitution.

A constitution is the collection of basic principles or established precedents that fulfills this function.

In this section, Alexander Hamilton discusses the function that he thinks the judicial system should have in a democratic society. According to him, the responsibility of the courts should be to ensure that limited government is maintained.

This indicates that the responsibility for ensuring that the government does not overstep its bounds will fall on the shoulders of the judicial system.

He contends that the courts have a responsibility to speak out against any and all conduct that does not adhere to the principles outlined in the Constitution.

Answers

The correct answer is A) Colonial tax laws required such high payments for land that families could not afford to separate.

Why did many people in the colonies live in extended families? Because Colonial tax laws required such high payments for land that families could not afford to separate.

Let's have in mind that this heavy taxation was a major cause for the beginning of the American Revolutionary War

American colonists were sick and tired of the unfair laws and legislation imposed by the British government. Colonists were tired of the heavy taxation imposed by the English monarchy such as the Navigation Acts, the Stamp Act, the Townshend Act, or the Tea Act, among many others.

The ultimate decision came when these colonists were angry and upset about the fact that they had no voice or representation in the British Parliament. Colonists knew that by then, they were capable of establishing their own form of government.

What did the Treaty of Versailles do?

How was it a cause of WWII?

What battle in the Pacific was vital to a US ending WWII?

What is island hopping?

What was the Manhattan project?

Was the US right or wrong for starting the project?

Was the US justified in dropping the bombs?

Answers

Answer:

The Treaty of Versailles was a peace treaty signed in 1919 between the Allied powers and Germany, which officially ended World War I. It imposed heavy penalties on Germany, including the payment of reparations, the reduction of its military, and the loss of territory.

The Treaty of Versailles is widely regarded as a cause of World War II because it humiliated Germany and set the stage for the rise of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party. The harsh terms of the treaty led to economic and political instability in Germany, which in turn fueled resentment and nationalist sentiments that Hitler exploited to gain power.

The Battle of Midway was a crucial naval battle fought between the US and Japan in June 1942. It was a major turning point in the Pacific theater of World War II, as it halted Japan's advance and gave the US the strategic initiative in the region.

Island hopping was a military strategy employed by the US during World War II in the Pacific theater. It involved capturing key islands and bypassing others, in order to establish airfields and supply bases that could support further advances.

The Manhattan Project was a top-secret research and development program undertaken by the US during World War II to create the first atomic bombs.

The morality of the Manhattan Project and the decision to drop the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki remains a subject of debate. Some argue that the US was justified in pursuing the project and using the bombs to end the war quickly and save lives. Others argue that the use of atomic weapons was unnecessary and constituted a war crime. Ultimately, the decision was made by US leaders at the time, and historians continue to debate its merits and implications.

Given:

Productivity per worker (kilos per day) in the wheat and bean industries of Caledonia and Ibrox are given below:

Wheat Beans

Caledonia 5 Or 2Ibrox 3 Or 6 Working population in each country is 16 million people.

To find: Total combined output that they are capable of producing if each country totally specializes in the product in which it has a comparative advantage. Comparative advantage refers to a country's ability to produce a particular good at a lower opportunity cost than another country. Opportunity cost is the value of the next best alternative foregone. A country should specialize in the production of the good in which it has a comparative advantage, and trade with other countries for the good in which they have a comparative advantage.

Let us first find out the opportunity cost for each country.

We can see that Caledonia has a comparative advantage in producing wheat because its opportunity cost of producing wheat (2/5) is less than Ibrox's opportunity cost of producing wheat (3/5) Ibrox has a comparative advantage in producing beans because its opportunity cost of producing beans (1/2) is less than Caledonia's opportunity cost of producing beans (5/2). So, if each country specializes in the production of the good in which it has a comparative advantage, the production and consumption of each good will maximize the benefits.

Using comparative advantage theory, we can find the total combined output that they are capable of producing if Caledonia specializes in wheat, it can produce 16 million * 5 = 80 million kilos of wheat. If Ibrox specializes in beans, it can produce 16 million * 6 = 96 million kilos of beans.

Total combined output that they are capable of producing = 80 + 96 = 176 million kilos.

A historian wants to better understand the causes and historical context of Iraqs invasion of Kuwait.

Answers

Answer:

Iraq invaded Kuwait on August 2, 1990, with the apparent aim of acquiring Kuwait's large oil reserves, canceling a large debt Iraq owed Kuwait, and expanding Iraqi power in the region. Iraq also accused Kuwait of "slant drilling" and manipulating the price of oil to limit Iraq's oil earnings. The Iraqi government claimed that Kuwait had always been an integral part of Iraq and only became an independent nation due to the interference of the British government.

The invasion set important precedents for the use of military force over subsequent decades. Although Iraq advanced several arguments in support of its actions, the basic reasons behind the invasion of Kuwait were the perennial ones that had led earlier Iraqi regimes to seek the same result: control of Kuwait’s oil and wealth, the military advantage of frontage on the Persian Gulf, Pan-Arabism under Iraqi leadership, and a way to generate popular support in the wake of its defeat in the Iran-Iraq War.

Answers

Answer:

Aztecs had individual advancement based on military ability. Incas had little social mobility because the Incans had a totalitarian government, in order to keep control over people, the leader had to limit their mobility.

Explanation:

The difference between the Inca and Aztec method of governance was that the Incas had a centralized government, while the Aztecs had a decentralized system of government.

The Incas and Aztecs are both civilizations that had a strong influence in their respective regions. The Incas ruled their empire through a centralized government, with the Inca Emperor as the supreme authority. The emperor was seen as a god-king and was responsible for the well-being of his subjects. The emperor had a vast bureaucracy that consisted of governors, tax collectors, and other officials who were responsible for administering the empire. The Incas maintained a complex system of roads and bridges that connected all parts of the empire. The Inca government was organized in a hierarchical system that ensured that all decisions were made from the top down, with the emperor having the final say.

In contrast, the Aztecs maintained their empire through a decentralized system of government. The Aztecs ruled their empire through a system of city-states, each with its own ruler. The Aztecs did not have a centralized government and did not have a supreme ruler like the Inca emperor. Instead, the Aztecs relied on a system of alliances and tribute payments to maintain control over their empire. Each city-state had to pay tribute to the Aztecs in exchange for protection and other benefits. The Aztecs did not have a system of roads and bridges like the Incas, but they had a well-developed system of canals that allowed for the transportation of goods and people.
