Find the equation in standard form of the circle with center at (4, −1) and that passes through the point (−4, 1).
Answer:
The standard form of the equation of a circle with center at (h, k) and radius r is:
(x - h)^2 + (y - k)^2 = r^2
We are given that the center of the circle is (4, -1), so h = 4 and k = -1. We also know that the circle passes through the point (-4, 1), which means that the distance from the center of the circle to (-4, 1) is the radius of the circle.
The distance between two points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) is given by the distance formula:
d = sqrt((x2 - x1)^2 + (y2 - y1)^2)
So the radius of the circle is:
r = sqrt((-4 - 4)^2 + (1 - (-1))^2) = sqrt(100) = 10
Now we can substitute the values of h, k, and r into the standard form equation of a circle:
(x - 4)^2 + (y + 1)^2 = 10^2
Expanding the equation gives:
x^2 - 8x + 16 + y^2 + 2y + 1 = 100
Simplifying and putting the equation in standard form, we get:
x^2 + y^2 - 8x + 2y - 83 = 0
Therefore, the equation in standard form of the circle with center at (4, −1) and that passes through the point (−4, 1) is:
x^2 + y^2 - 8x + 2y - 83 = 0

Step-by-step explanation:
A ratio is a way of comparing two or more similar quantities. Ratios can be used to compare
costs, weights, sizes and other quantities.
For example, suppose we have a model boat which is 1 m long, whereas the actual boat is 25 m

Note there are no units included, and note also the use of the colon to represent the ratio.
Ratios are also used to describe quantities of different ingredients in mixtures. Pharmacists
making up medicines, manufacturers making biscuits and builders making cement all need to make
mixtures using ingredients in the correct ratio. If they don’t there may be dire consequences!
So knowing about ratios is not only very important, but extremely useful and crucial in certain

The data below shows the money Paritosh spends on a weekend. What will be the central angles of each of these categories?with the numbers 40 100 50 50
The central angles for the categories with the numbers 40, 100, 50, and 50 are 60 degrees, 150 degrees, 75 degrees, and 75 degrees, respectively.
To calculate the central angles for each category based on the given numbers 40, 100, 50, and 50, we need to find the proportion of each value to the total sum of all the values. Let's proceed with the following steps:
Step 1: Calculate the total sum of the given numbers: 40 + 100 + 50 + 50 = 240.
Step 2: Find the proportion of each value by dividing it by the total sum and multiplying it by 360 (since a full circle has 360 degrees).
Central angle for the first category: (40/240) * 360 = 60 degrees.
Central angle for the second category: (100/240) * 360 = 150 degrees.
Central angle for the third category: (50/240) * 360 = 75 degrees.
Central angle for the fourth category: (50/240) * 360 = 75 degrees.
The central angles for each category based on the given numbers are 60 degrees, 150 degrees, 75 degrees, and 75 degrees, respectively.
These central angles represent the relative proportions of each category's spending in relation to the total spending. They can be used to create a pie chart or visualize the distribution of expenses in a circular graph.

Point K is located at ( 1 , 2 ) on the following coordinate plane. A square that has a perimeter of 20 units will be drawn so that K is one vertex of the square. Which three ordered pairs could represent the location of another vertex of the square? Select the three correct answers.
Three ordered pairs that could represent the location of another vertex of the square are (7, 2), (-5, 2), (1, 8).
To find the possible locations of the other vertices of the square, we need to determine the distance from point K to any other vertex of the square. Since the perimeter of the square is 20 units, each side of the square has a length of 20/4 = 5 units.
One way to find the other vertices is to draw a circle with center at K and radius 5 units, and then look for points on the circle that have integer coordinates. Alternatively, we can use the distance formula to calculate the distance from K to another point (x, y), which must be 5 units, and then solve for y in terms of x.
Using the distance formula, we get:
\(\sqrt{(x-1)^{2} +(y-1)^{2} }\) = 5
Simplifying and squaring both sides, we get:
(x-1)^2 + (y-2)^2 = 25
Expanding the left side and simplifying, we get:
\(x^{2}\) - 2x + \(y^{2}\) - 4y + 20 = 0
Completing the square for x and y, we get:
\((x-1)^{2}\) + \((y-1)^{2}\) = \(6^{2}\)
This is the equation of a circle with center at (1, 2) and radius 6 units. Any point on this circle that has integer coordinates could be a vertex of the square, since it will be exactly 5 units away from K.
Using this method, we can find several possible locations of the other vertices of the square. Three of them are:
(7, 2), (-5, 2), (1, 8)

Which principle of government was supported most by the Anti-Federalists?
Answer:
Anti-Federalism
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

For the faction opposed to the policies of U.S. President George Washington, see the Anti-Administration party.
The Articles of Confederation, the predecessor to the U.S. Constitution and drafted from Anti-Federalist principles
Anti-Federalism was a late-18th century movement that opposed the creation of a stronger U.S. federal government and which later opposed the ratification of the 1787 Constitution. The previous constitution called the Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union, gave state governments more authority. Led by Patrick Henry of Virginia, Anti-Federalists worried, among other things, that the position of president, then a novelty, might evolve into a monarchy. Though the Constitution was ratified and supplanted the Articles of Confederation, Anti-Federalist influence helped lead to the passage of the United States Bill of Rights.
Contents
Major points
They believed the Constitution needed a Bill of Rights.
They believed the Constitution created a presidency so powerful that it would become a monarchy.
They believed the Constitution did too little with the courts and would create an out-of-control judiciary.
They believed that the national government would be too far away from the people and thus unresponsive to the needs of localities.
They believed the Constitution would abrogate, at least in part, the power of the states.[1]
History
During the American Revolution and its immediate aftermath, the term federal was applied to any person who supported the colonial union and the government formed under the Articles of Confederation. After the war, the group that felt the national government under the Articles was too weak appropriated the name Federalist for themselves. Historian Jackson Turner Main wrote, "to them, the man of 'federal principles' approved of 'federal measures,' which meant those that increased the weight and authority or extended the influence of the Confederation Congress."[2]
As the Federalists moved to amend the Articles, eventually leading to the Constitutional Convention, they applied the term anti-federalist to their opposition. The term implied, correctly or not, both opposition to Congress and unpatriotic motives. The Anti-Federalists rejected the term, arguing that they were the true Federalists. In both their correspondence and their local groups, they tried to capture the term. For example, an unknown anti-federalist signed his public correspondence as "A Federal Farmer" and the New York committee opposing the Constitution was called the "Federal Republican Committee." However, the Federalists carried the day and the name Anti-Federalists forever stuck.[2]
The Anti-Federalists were composed of diverse elements, including those opposed to the Constitution because they thought that a stronger government threatened the sovereignty and prestige of the states, localities, or individuals; those that saw in the proposed government a new centralized, disguised "monarchic" power that would only replace the cast-off despotism of Great Britain;[3] and those who simply feared that the new government threatened their liberties. Some of the opposition believed that the central government under the Articles of Confederation was sufficient. Still, others believed that while the national government under the Articles was too weak, the national government under the Constitution would be too strong. Another complaint of the Anti-Federalists was that the Constitution provided for a centralized rather than federal government (and in The Federalist Papers, James Madison admits that the new Constitution has the characteristics of both a centralized and federal form of the government) and that a truly federal form of government was a leaguing of states as under the Articles of Confederation.
During the period of debate over the ratification of the Constitution, numerous independent local speeches and articles were published all across the country. Initially, many of the articles in opposition were written under pseudonyms, such as "Brutus" (likely Melancton Smith),[4] "Centinel" (likely Samuel Bryan), and "Federal Farmer." Eventually, famous revolutionary figures such as Patrick Henry came out publicly against the Constitution. They argued that the strong national government proposed by the Federalists was a threat to the rights of individuals and that the president would become a king. They objected to the federal court system created by the proposed constitution. This produced a phenomenal body of political writing; the best and most influential of these articles and speeches were gathered by historians into a collection known as the Anti-Federalist Papers in allusion to the Federalist Papers.

Assume the average nightly payroll for a city’s downtown restaurants on the weekend is $2200 with a standard deviation of $300. The distribution has a bell-shaped curve. A manager wants to be 99% sure he has this cost covered for the next four weeks and puts away $10,000. Will he have enough? Use your z-score formula result to justify your answer. Please respond with the dollar amount and round to the nearest dollar.
Hint: Round your z-value to the hundredths place and direction of the graph will matter.
Given statement solution is :- The manager will have enough funds, and the amount set aside ($10,000) is sufficient to cover the payroll for the next four weeks.
To determine if the manager will have enough funds to cover the nightly payroll for the next four weeks, we need to calculate the total cost for four weeks and compare it to the amount set aside.
The nightly payroll has a mean of $2200 and a standard deviation of $300. Since there are seven nights in a week, the weekly payroll can be calculated as:
Weekly Payroll = Nightly Payroll * Number of Nights in a Week
= $2200 * 7
= $15,400
To calculate the total cost for four weeks, we multiply the weekly payroll by four:
Total Cost for Four Weeks = Weekly Payroll * Number of Weeks
= $15,400 * 4
= $61,600
Now, let's calculate the z-score using the formula:
z = (X - μ) / σ
Where:
X = Total Cost for Four Weeks
μ = Mean of the distribution
σ = Standard deviation of the distribution
z = ($61,600 - $2200) / $300
z = $59,400 / $300
z ≈ 198
To determine if the manager will have enough funds to cover the payroll, we need to find the proportion of the distribution that is less than or equal to the z-score. This can be done by consulting a standard normal distribution table or using statistical software.
For a z-score of 198, the proportion in the tail of the distribution is essentially 1 (or 100%). This means that the manager is virtually guaranteed to have enough funds to cover the payroll for the next four weeks.
Since the manager has set aside $10,000, which is less than the calculated total cost of $61,600, he will indeed have enough funds to cover the payroll.
Therefore, the manager will have enough funds, and the amount set aside ($10,000) is sufficient to cover the payroll for the next four weeks.
