Answers

The sentence from the passage that rovides the best evidence that trees "are a bastion against climate change" because they sequester carbon is D. "Adding trees as a concrete additive can significantly reduce CO2 emissions and create a stronger, longer lasting product, all while storing carbon.

How to illustrate the information?

Long-term changes in temperature and weather patterns are referred to as climate change. These movements may be natural, but human activity have been the primary cause of climate change since the 1800s, mostly owing to the combustion of fossil fuels (such as coal, oil, and gas), which produces heat-trapping gases.

Climate change is already having an influence on health in a variety of ways, including the increased frequency of extreme weather events such as heatwaves, storms, and floods, the disruption of food systems, increases in zoonoses and food-, water-, and vector-borne diseases, and mental health difficulties.

The farmer was surprised and a bit confused, but he played along. "No, why did the chicken cross the road?" he asked.

"To get to the udder side!" the cow replied, bursting into laughter.

The farmer was taken aback. He had never heard of such a bad joke before. But the cow was on a roll.

"Why did the tomato turn red?" the cow asked.

"I don't know," the farmer replied, starting to feel a bit annoyed.

"Because it saw the salad dressing!" the cow cackled, slapping its knee.

The farmer had had enough. "Okay, that's enough jokes for one day," he said, putting down the milking pail.

But the cow wasn't done. "Wait, one more! Why don't scientists trust atoms?"

"I don't know," the farmer sighed, starting to walk away.

"Because they make up everything!" the cow hollered, nearly falling over from laughter.

The farmer just shook his head and walked away, muttering to himself, "I need a new cow."

The bartender was skeptical, but intrigued. He handed the octopus a guitar and watched in amazement as the octopus started playing a beautiful melody. The bartender was impressed and said, "Okay, that's pretty impressive. Let's try something else."

He handed the octopus a set of drums and watched as the octopus played a flawless drum solo. The bartender couldn't believe his eyes.

Suddenly, a patron at the end of the bar stood up and shouted, "I'll give you $10,000 for that octopus!"

Use the excerpts from Macbeth to complete the following task:Write an essay of at least three paragraphs,

Answers

Answer:

1. Lady Macbeth:

She is a very confident woman, which is obvious from the way she thinks and fights for her husband. She is very ambitious and wants Macbeth to have a more prominent role in the kingdom. At times, she curses his lack of ambition and confidence and wishes she was a man so that she could do all of these things on her own instead of relying on her husband.

On the other hand, when she and Macbeth commit their first murder of Duncan, she loses that confidence and starts not only doubting herself and their cause, but also feeling great guilt that drives her to madness.

2. Macbeth:

On the other hand, Macbeth initially lacks confidence and ambition. He relies on his wife to tell him what to do and how to fight for what he (or rather she) wants.

However, as time goes by, he becomes more and more confident, especially after the prophecy from the witches and the killing of Duncan. After his first murder, he cannot seem to stop and is driven by crazy ambition, which results in everyone's death.

Lady Macbeth is a self-assured lady, as seen by how she thinks and battles for her husband. She is ambitious and wishes for Macbeth to have a larger role in the kingdom.

Lady Macbeth and Macbeth:

Lady Macbeth laments his lack of desire and confidence at times, wishing she were a guy so she could handle all of these responsibilities without relying on her spouse.

On the other side, after she and Macbeth murder Duncan for the first time, she loses her confidence and begins to doubt not just herself and their cause, but also to experience a deep sense of remorse that drives her insane.

Macbeth, on the other hand, lacks confidence and drive at first. He looks to his wife for advice on what to do and how to go about getting what he wants.

However, as time passes, he gains confidence, especially after the witches' prophesy and the assassination of Duncan. He can't seem to stop after his first murder and is driven by insane ambition, which leads to everyone's death.

In which sentence does the author most clearly define his argument?
adapted from The Goal of Sending a Man to the Moon
by John F. Kennedy

If we are to win the battle that is now going on around the world between freedom and tyranny, the dramatic achievements in space which occurred in recent weeks should have made clear to us all the impact of this adventure on the minds of men everywhere. Since early in my term, our efforts in space have been under review. With the advice of the Vice President, we have examined where we are strong and where we are not, where we may succeed and where we may not. Now it is time to take longer strides—time for a great new American enterprise—time for this nation to take a clearly leading role in space achievement. This in many ways may hold the key to our future on earth.
Recognizing the head start obtained by the Soviets with their large rocket engines, we nevertheless are required to make new efforts on our own.1(For while we cannot guarantee that we shall one day be first, we can guarantee that any failure to make this effort will make us last.We take an additional risk by making it in full view of the world, but this very risk enhances our stature when we are successful.2(We go into space because whatever mankind must undertake, free men must fully share.
I therefore ask the Congress, above and beyond the increases I have earlier requested for space activities, to provide the funds which are needed to meet the following national goals:
First, I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to the earth. No single space project in this period will be more impressive to mankind, or more important for the long-range exploration of space. None will be so difficult or expensive to accomplish. In a very real sense, it will not be one man going to the moon—3(if we make this judgment affirmatively, it will be an entire nation. For all of us must work to put him there.
Secondly, an additional 23 million dollars, together with 7 million dollars already available, will accelerate development of the Rover nuclear rocket. 4(This gives promise of some day providing a means for even more exciting and ambitious exploration of space. This will perhaps go beyond the moon, perhaps to the very end of the solar system itself.
Third, an additional 50 million dollars will make the most of our present leadership, by accelerating the use of space satellites for world-wide communications.
Fourth, there will be an additional 75 million dollars—of which 53 million dollars is for the Weather Bureau. This will help give us at the earliest possible time a satellite system for world-wide weather observation.
Let it be clear that I am asking the Congress and the country to accept a firm commitment to a new course of action—a course which will last for many years and carry very heavy costs: 531 million dollars in fiscal '62—an estimated seven to nine billion dollars additional over the next five years. If we are to go only half way, or reduce our sights in the face of difficulty, in my judgment it would be better not to go at all.
