The things Morris values the most are Freedom, Peace and Struggle.
This can be seen by reading the text above, where Morris says that the empty house by the sea promotes a great peace for her. Emptiness is pacifying in her life and this peace allows her to feel free and happy.
Peace and freedom are things she values above all things and that's why she shows how the monks and her friend are wise to be detached from material things.
However, she likes to live in the struggle that the accumulation of things promotes. At the end of the text, she says that she enjoys this fight and that's why she can't let go of everything.
In this case, we can say that freedom, peace and struggle are the things she values.
It is important to note that "The Tyranny of Things" is an essay written by Elisabeth Woodbridge Morris where she explores the dangers of consumerism that is so ingrained in our society.

what effect has the ""greed cycle"" discussed by cassidy had on the rest of the economy and on our society generally? can we avoid future greed cycles or are they an inevitable part of our system?
The "greed cycle" discussed by Cassidy refers to a phenomenon in which individuals or companies become increasingly focused on accumulating wealth and resources, often at the expense of others.
This can lead to economic instability, as the pursuit of profit can result in risky or unethical behavior, such as fraud or exploitation. The effects of this greed cycle on the rest of the economy and society can be significant. In the short term, it can lead to a concentration of wealth and power among a small group of individuals or companies, which can exacerbate income inequality and social tensions. It can also lead to market bubbles and crashes, as seen in the financial crisis of 2008. In the long term, the greed cycle can undermine trust in institutions and erode social cohesion. It can create a culture of cynicism and disillusionment, as individuals come to believe that the system is rigged against them.
While it may be difficult to avoid future greed cycles entirely, there are steps that can be taken to mitigate their impact.

C. influenced by Romanticism.
D. an extension of Romantic ideals.
The artistic trends of the early twentieth century can best be characterized as a reaction against Romanticism (option a).
The artistic trends of the early twentieth century can be best characterized as a reaction against Romanticism (Option A). During this time period, artists and intellectuals sought to challenge and break away from the romantic ideals that dominated the late 18th and 19th centuries. Romanticism emphasized emotion, individualism, and a glorification of nature, often depicting idealized and fantastical scenes.
In contrast, the artists of the early twentieth century embraced new approaches and movements that aimed to reject the sentimental and idealized nature of Romanticism. They sought to challenge traditional artistic norms and explore new forms of expression. This period witnessed the rise of various avant-garde movements, such as Cubism, Futurism, Dadaism, and Surrealism.
These movements rejected the romantic emphasis on the subjective experience and instead focused on innovative techniques, abstract forms, and unconventional subject matters. They embraced a more fragmented and experimental approach, challenging the notion of a singular, unified perspective. Artists during this time also drew inspiration from the rapid social, political, and technological changes happening in the world, reflecting the fragmented and chaotic nature of the modern era.
In summary, the artistic trends of the early twentieth century were a reaction against Romanticism, as artists sought to break away from its sentimental and idealized nature, and instead embraced new movements that challenged traditional norms and explored innovative forms of expression. 1. Give me a brief summary and 2 two relations.
It is perfectly fine to take breaks in life since we never truly know when our life can come to an end. Experiencing life outside of our own box is something many people do not do because of working too much. A common saying that I have heard is "Money is the root of all evil" so how much are you willing to trade your time for money. Often people spend their peak primes working away and not enjoying their life until they retire. My Uncle is 75 now and retired early because he knew many people that received one social security check and passed away. He would rather get a smaller check than wait on the possibility of receiving one check. FIRE an acronym for Financially Independent Retiring Early is a method I will implement. This involves spending less money on stuff and saving it which allows you to invest your money. Over time you will make your money off assets allowing you to work less and give you more time. I am part of many people that spend too much on unnecessary things. On my fathers side of the family the life expectancy is short with my grandma passing away at 48 and my aunt recently passing away at 45 this year. So I believe that if I really want something then I should just buy it. For example I save enough money until I can comfortably buy the things I want and not have buyers remorse. I do not have expensive taste so the money I save comes from not buying expensive clothes or going to eat in fancy restaurants. I really liked the saying "save and invest, catch fire, become time rich." Time is all we have in this life and it's best to invest in time with yourself and family more than your time being invested only in money. It also goes along with the saying do not put your eggs in one basket or maybe do not put your time all in one place. Freedom to me is being free to pursue whatever you want in life with no restraints. I have never bought things to impress others but can see how that can become a problem. As Adam Baker said "The pursuit of these things we start to identify with our things" this is living life that is not yours so eventually you will break yourself down and be left only with these things that used to mean something to you but are of no real asset. With this ongoing people become more obsessed with their image than your financial, mental and physical health. Debt is used as a security blanket but can become something that will haunt and eventually hurt you later. Debt will create stress forcing you to work harder to pay it off. Ovoid the cycle of debt and live the life you are able to so eventually you can buy the things you want later in life. In the article I found that many people are not pursuing the American Dream in America anymore. They are moving to other countries that give twice the chance of getting financially comfortable when starting from the bottom. Often there's a saying in the US that states "The rich get richer while the poor get poorer". Many people, including myself, believe we have the right to seek higher education without having to go in debt for the next 15 to 20 years. There are other countries that provide this and free healthcare along with it. In the article they did a poll and 75% of people said that the American Dream is in danger of becoming extinct, the rest believe they are living the American Dream and others claim to be living it to an extent. Part of the 75% believe that the American Dream is not obtainable. Moving to another country can be very difficult and also you have no idea what you will get into. It could be worth a try but I believe that we can ask for help and try to adapt to every situation as best as we can and follow the FIRE acronym and sell our excess we can eventually be in a comfortable position in our life
The author emphasizes the value of breaks and experiences beyond work, discussing the FIRE approach for early retirement. They caution against materialism, debt, and pursuing the American Dream, advocating for financial independence and a balanced life.

The phrase "one on a side" in the poem by Robert Frost suggests that the speaker and the neighbor are engaged in repairing the wall from opposite sides. Option D
The line "One on a side" indicates that each person takes their own side of the wall, symbolizing their individuality and separateness. The act of repairing the wall becomes a metaphor for the maintenance of boundaries and divisions between people.
By using the phrase "one on a side," Frost emphasizes the notion of duality and the idea that there are two distinct perspectives at play. It implies that the speaker and the neighbor have their own separate roles in maintaining the wall, highlighting their individual responsibilities and obligations.
The phrase also underscores the theme of division and separation in the poem. The wall serves as a physical barrier between the speaker and the neighbor, representing the emotional and psychological barriers that exist between people.
The repetition of "We keep the wall between us" further emphasizes the persistence of these divisions and the reluctance to bridge the gap.
In summary, the phrase "one on a side" signifies that the speaker and the neighbor repair the wall from opposite sides, symbolizing the perpetuation of division and the maintenance of individual boundaries. It underscores the theme of separation and highlights the inherent duality in the poem. So Option D is correct.

Jason and his Uncle Roger had been hiking for almost an hour. Jason felt that it must be time to turn toward home, and was about to mention that when Uncle Roger asked him to sing as they marched along the trail. Uncle Roger said that it was to keep bears away. Jason started singing loudly. To his intense relief, they paused for lunch in a sunny meadow studded with wildflowers; he settled down to enjoy his sandwich and a few blessed minutes of motionlessness. All too soon his uncle shook his arm and informed him briskly that he needed to break out his poncho because a thunderstorm was moving in rapidly. Terrific, thought Jason. Uncle Roger hurried them across the open meadow to the safety of the woods, and it was there that Jason received his first piece of good news: they would be ending their hike early. Once they started back down the mountain, icy pellets of hail briefly assailed them, and then blinding sunlight dried Jason's jeans so that they were like cardboard. His day had been a mixture of boredom, fear, exhaustion, and discomfort, accented by a pair of painful blisters. From Achilles' perspective, his actions were justified due to the dishonor he faced when Briseis was taken from him. He prioritized personal glory and fulfillment of the prophecy his mother warned him about. By refusing to fight, he sought to assert his worth and gain recognition for his heroic deeds.
Firstly, Briseis, his war prize, was taken away from him by Agamemnon, undermining his honor and status. By refusing to fight for the Greek army, Achilles was asserting his worth and seeking justice for the insult. Secondly, Achilles had a deep bond with his mother, Thetis, who warned him of his fate and the lack of recognition he would receive for his heroic deeds. This prophecy weighed heavily on his mind, leading him to prioritize personal glory and immortal fame over the collective goals of the Greek army.
