If we wanted to compare muscular endurance between a very large person and a very small person, what method would be the BEST method to use?
A.
absolute method
B.
maxing out
C.
callisthenic method
D.
fixed percentage of RM method
Answer:
D. Fixed percentage of RM method
Explanation:
When we measure muscular endurance it is very important to make it equal to all participants. This can be done using a fixed percentage of a one-repetition maximum or 1RM. We can set it to 70% so a person who can lift 100kg would have to lift 70kg for as many repetitions that they can. This way a large and small person would be equal in weight but not in endurance.

The collapse of a bridge above a dry creek bed, with three cars falling from the wreckage and two trapped drivers, is a major disaster scene that requires a coordinated emergency response. Fire apparatuses that will be required at this scene include fire engines, ladder trucks, and rescue vehicles.
Fire engines are equipped with water tanks and hoses and can be used to extinguish fires or provide a water source for other apparatuses. Ladder trucks have long, extendable ladders that can be used for rescue operations, such as reaching the trapped drivers. Rescue vehicles are equipped with specialized equipment, such as hydraulic tools, airbags, and cutting tools, which can be used to extricate trapped victims from the wreckage.
The personnel they will carry include firefighters, paramedics, and other emergency responders. Firefighters are responsible for extinguishing fires, stabilizing the wreckage, and providing support to the rescue operation. Paramedics are responsible for providing medical care to the trapped drivers and any other injured victims. Other emergency responders, such as police officers and search and rescue teams, may also be present to assist with the operation.
The main purposes of these fire apparatuses are to provide access to the trapped drivers, stabilize the wreckage, and extricate the trapped victims safely. The firefighters will work to prevent any potential fires or explosions, while the rescue vehicles will use their specialized equipment to cut through the wreckage and extract the trapped victims. The ladder trucks may be used to provide access to the vehicles or to extricate the victims using their ladders. Which of the following is NOT true of effective prenatal care?
It should be consistent, with all doctor recommendations observed.
It should begin as soon as you think you might be pregnant.
It should include asking the doctor any questions you have.
It requires a support person at each visit.
The statement "It requires a support person at each visit" is NOT true of effective prenatal care.
Effective prenatal care does not necessarily require a support person to be present at each visit. While having a support person, such as a partner, family member, or doula, can be beneficial for emotional support and assistance during prenatal appointments, it is not a mandatory requirement for effective care.
Prenatal care primarily focuses on the health and well-being of the pregnant individual and their developing baby, including regular medical check-ups, screenings, and guidance on prenatal nutrition, exercise, and overall prenatal health.
The other statements mentioned are generally true of effective prenatal care:
1. It should be consistent, with all doctor recommendations observed: Consistency in attending prenatal appointments and following the healthcare provider's recommendations is important for monitoring the pregnancy, identifying any potential issues, and receiving appropriate care and guidance.
2. It should begin as soon as you think you might be pregnant: Early initiation of prenatal care is recommended to ensure the well-being of both the pregnant individual and the developing fetus. Early care allows for early detection and management of any potential complications or health concerns.
3. It should include asking the doctor any questions you have: Effective prenatal care encourages open communication between the pregnant individual and the healthcare provider.
Asking questions and seeking clarification on any concerns or uncertainties helps promote understanding, address anxieties, and make informed decisions regarding prenatal health.
Remember that specific prenatal care recommendations may vary based on individual circumstances, medical history, and healthcare provider preferences.
It is important for pregnant individuals to consult with their healthcare provider to receive personalized and appropriate prenatal care throughout their pregnancy.

Which personality assessment would you recommend for use by employers? Choose from the Rorschach Test, the TAT, the MMPI, and the MBTI inventory. Be sure to include why this assessment is a better fit than the other assessments described in the lesson.
Answer:
I would recommend the mbti (Myers-Briggs Type indicator) for use of employers. I believe the mbti would be a more suitable assessment than the Rorschach test, the TAT test, and the Mmpi-2 test. The mbti is a personality test developed to test psychological disorders, but is sometimes used for career counseling to determine suitability when hiring. The mbti measures personality types, and preferences, based on a four dimension scale (Extroversion versus Introversion, Sensing versus Intuition, Thinking versus Feeling, Judging versus Perceiving). Also, the mpti has been proven useful in professional settings. The mbti measures disorder, emotion, and self esteem, with them being evaluated, correctly; it can help individuals succeed in both a personal and professional setting.
The TAT (Thematic Apperception Test) and Rorschach test wouldn't be efficient to use because they both mainly focus on personality. That is why I would recommend the Mbti assessment for employers to take.
Explanation:
A psychological test in which the test subjects are analyzed and interpreted in form of psychological parameters and algorithms is called a personality assessment test.
The personality assessment recommended for employees will be:
Option D. The MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type indicator)
The test can be explained as:
The MBTI type test would be more suitable for assessing the employees compared to other tests mentioned. The MBTI type test is self questionnaire-based test that introspects the decision making and self-perspective traits of individuals.MBTI is used in psychological disorder analysis and career counselling as well. The MBTI measures the traits based on four types of parameters that includes traits like extrovert, introvert, intuition, feeling, judging etc. This type of test is proved in social and psychological analysis and can be used to measure emotions and disorders correctly. The MBTI type test is more reliable as it is evaluated easily and will help assess the hiring's for their roles and positions. The other tests like Rorschach and TAT wouldn't be efficient as they focus on personality only. Therefore, MBTI would be better.

Do you agree more with Sigmund Freud's or Carl Jung's theory of personality development? Why?
Jung presents a better way to study behaviour and personality.
Freud and Jung shared a relationship of many decades, as Jung, the junior partner, learned more about Freud’s theories of the unconscious. However, Jung later came to reject some of Freud’s theories, and then went to his own method of psychology which he called analytical. Both men drew on the concept of the unconscious as a way of explaining dreams, but Jung drew more on a multi-layered concept of the subconscious.
Freud and Jung disagreed on what constituted the unconscious. Freud viewed the unconscious as a collection of images, thoughts and experiences the individual refused to process, which lead to neuroses. Jung added to this definition by stating that each individual also possessed a collective unconscious, a group of shared images and archetypes common to all humans. These often bubbled up to the surface of the personal unconscious. Dreams could be better interpreted by understanding the symbolic reference points of universally shared symbols.
Freud believed that the principle driving force behind men and women’s activities was repressed or expressed sexuality. Unfulfilled sexuality led to pathological conditions. Jung believed that sex constituted only one of the many things that drive humans. More importantly, humans are driven by their need to achieve individuation, wholeness or full knowledge of the self. Many emotions drive humans to act in psychologically unhealthy ways, but all these ways were a longing for the desire to feel complete.
The unconscious to Freud was the storage facility for all repressed sexual desires, thus resulting in pathological or mental illness. Only through laying bare the unconscious could a person discover how to live happily and recover from mental illness. Jung, conversely, felt that the unconscious often strove on its own for wholeness, and that mental illness was not pathology, but an unconscious regulation of emotions and stored experience tending toward individuation.
The goal of the therapist, according to
Jung, was to help the person recognize the work of the unconscious, and thus to assist the patient in understanding how better to strive for individuation which would produce a “whole” person.
While Freud tends toward a very masterful way of storming the unconscious to denude it of repressed feelings, Jung’s path is more in line with the later humanist psychologists. It inspires the holistic Gestalt school, and later therapeutic schools.
In my opinion, Jung presented a better way of examining an individual's personality and behaviour. Freud laid too much emphasis on the sexuality of the person.
Jung's work on the concept of collective unconscious and the archetypes are really revealing aspects of behaviour.
