identify the historical name for the decade when banks failed, global trade shrank by over 66 percent, commodities prices dropped, and millions faced unemployment.

Answers

Answer 1

The historical name for the decade described, marked by bank failures, a significant decline in global trade, plummeting commodity prices, and widespread unemployment, is the Great Depression.

The Great Depression refers to the severe economic downturn that lasted from the late 1920s to the early 1940s. It began with the stock market crash of 1929, known as Black Tuesday, which led to a collapse of financial institutions and widespread panic. This event triggered a chain reaction of economic crises worldwide, causing a sharp contraction in global trade and a dramatic decrease in commodity prices.

As businesses struggled to survive, millions of people lost their jobs, leading to high unemployment rates and widespread poverty. The Great Depression stands as one of the most challenging periods in modern history, with far-reaching social and economic consequences that shaped the subsequent decades.

Answers

The European explorers who followed Columbus to North America saw little difference between their lives in America and their lives in Europe.

When the European explorers first came to North America, they faced several challenges in adjusting to the new environment. One of the most notable of these challenges was the fact that the climate in North America was different from that in Europe. They also had to contend with new food sources, unfamiliar terrain, and, in some cases, hostile Native Americans.

Despite these challenges, the European explorers remained confident that they could adapt to life in North America. They believed that their advanced European societies had the resources and knowledge to establish settlements in the New World and create a way of life that was similar to what they had back in Europe.

As a result, they brought with them many of their traditional European customs, including their religious beliefs, language, and social customs. The explorers also introduced several new technologies and crops to the Native Americans they encountered.

Answer:

America is a nation of immigrants is more true.

Explanation:

While it is true that there have always been people, and political forces that have opposed immigration to America, this has not prevented millions of people from immigrating to America at different times during history.

In the eighteen and early twentieth centuries, millions of Europeans immigrated to America, mainly from Germany, Italy, Ireland, and Poland. They arrived in the ports of eastern cities like New York and Philadephia, and from there, settled all over the American Territory.

In the second half of the twentieth century, millions of people from Latin America also immigrated to the U.S., mainly from Mexico and Cuba.

Answer:

The United States does get called the nation of immigrants because almost all people living here in the United States there ancestors were not originally born in the state. Nowadays the United States is more in the middle of being pro-immigrants and anti-immigrants it's in the grey area. The main reason why I am saying that it is in the grey area is because the United States welcomes people who immigrate here but they want the people to immigrate through the legal system so they can be United State citizens.

The United States has been called a lot of names but one name that it was called was the melting pot. The reason that people called The United States the melting pot is because people from all different places came to The United States so they could live the American  dream of being free and being able to voice your opinions because most people who came to The United States wanted to get away from countries that were run by Dictators. When the immigrants started coming to America they decided to open up Ellis island in 1924 so that the immigrants can start the process to be a United States citizen. Most places in America got a nickname called the “Salad Bowl”. It's a metaphor for the way a multicultural society can integrate different cultures while maintaining their separate identities, contrasting with a melting pot.

One of the reason why people might be saying that The United States is anti-immigrants is because of the Anti-German sentiment during World War I or because America wants to strengthen their borders but in all reality America is pro-immigration

How were the motivations of the participants in the Greco-Persian Wars different?

There was not enough agriculture in Greece to accommodate a big population due to its extensive hilly terrain. As a result, several city-states would send a portion of their populace to establish colonies along the Mediterranean Sea and Black Sea. Some of these colonies were established in Ionia, on the western coast of Asia Minor (today's Turkey). Lydia, a nearby regional power to the east, finally seized control of the Ionian colonies.

Lydia was captured by the Persians as they grew in power to the west. Ionia followed suit, so did they. Ionia, however, proved to be very challenging for the Persians to govern because the local Greek population bitterly resented Persian rule. In 499 BCE, the Ionians rose up in opposition to Persian rule. In their battle with the Persians, the Ionians put up a fierce fight and were difficult to subdue. The Ionians asked for assistance from the other Greek city-states, which only made Persia's issues worse. In response to their cries for assistance, Athens and Eretria dispatched a number of ships and soldiers to aid their uprising in 498 BCE. In the end, despite their assistance, the Ionians were subdued in 493 BCE. However, Darius I, the Persian monarch, was extremely incensed by it.
