Answer:
I hope this helps:), I'm so glad I could help
Explanation:
In researching history, I find there are some really dramatic occasions. Catherine of Aragon’s speech at the Legatine Court of Blackfriars on June 21, 1529 is one of those moments. King Henry VIII was hell bent on marrying Anne Boleyn and was in search of any means available to extricate himself from his marriage to Catherine of Aragon. Catherine, being the proud daughter of their Most Catholic Majesties Queen Isabel and King Ferdinand, would be her own most staunch advocate.
Henry VIII had asked Pope Clement for an annulment of his marriage to Catherine. But before he could do this, in May of 1527, Rome was sacked by the Imperial troops of Holy Roman Emperor Charles V, who just happened to be Catherine’s nephew. The Pope was to spend the rest of his life avoiding conflict with Charles. He was compelled to make decisions that would not offend the Emperor even though this resulted in reducing the power of Papacy. Also, according to church doctrine, a valid contractual marriage could only be dissolved by death. And the Papacy had issued a dispensation for the marriage of Henry and Catherine. It was not in the Pope’s power to annul a marriage where an impediment had already been dispensed.
In April of 1528, Pope Clement issued a papal bull giving Cardinal Wolsey the authority to handle the King’s Great Matter in England. He also dispatched the aging and ailing Cardinal Lorenzo Campeggio to England to look into the claims. However, the Pope had instructed the Cardinal to delay any decision as long as he could so as not to offend the Queen’s nephew, the Emperor. Campeggio’s journey took many months. A Legatine Court was finally convened in June of 1529 to hear the arguments regarding the annulment.

Why are the power to pass and enforce laws and impose taxes held by both state and federal goverments
The power to pass and enforce laws and impose taxes is held by both state and federal governments to ensure a balance of power and effective governance.
The power to pass and enforce laws and impose taxes is held by both state and federal governments in order to establish a system of checks and balances and to ensure effective governance.
Distribution of power: By dividing the authority to pass and enforce laws and impose taxes between state and federal governments, power is dispersed among different levels of governance. This distribution prevents the concentration of power in a single entity and helps safeguard against potential abuses.Local representation: State governments represent the interests and needs of their respective regions, while the federal government represents the interests of the entire nation. This allows for local concerns to be addressed at the state level, while national issues are tackled by the federal government.Flexibility and responsiveness: The division of powers between state and federal governments allows for flexibility and responsiveness in governance. State governments can tailor laws and taxes to suit their specific circumstances, while the federal government can focus on broader national issues. This system accommodates diverse perspectives and ensures that laws and taxes are responsive to the needs of both local and national populations.Overall, the dual exercise of these powers allows for a balanced and effective system of governance that combines the advantages of local representation with the benefits of national unity.

During the late nineteenth century, members of which of the following groups were most likely to advocate settlement houses as a means of social reform?
a) African Americans leaders
b) Educated middle-class women
c) Labor leaders
d) Scandinavian immigrants
e) Democratic politicians
During the late nineteenth century, members of groups of educated middle-class women advocated colony houses as a means of social reform. Here option B is the correct answer.
During the late nineteenth century, educated middle-class women were the most likely group to advocate settlement houses as a means of social reform. Settlement houses were community centers established in urban areas to provide services to immigrants and the poor, including education, healthcare, and cultural activities.
One of the most well-known settlement houses was Hull House, founded by Jane Addams and Ellen Gates Starr in Chicago in 1889. Addams and Starr, both educated middle-class women, believed that providing services and education to the poor could help alleviate poverty and promote social justice.
While other groups, such as labor leaders and Democratic politicians, also advocated for social reform during this time period, settlement houses were primarily associated with the efforts of middle-class women. African American leaders, in particular, often focused on advocating for civil rights and political equality, rather than social reform through settlement houses.
