D. Federalists were willing to agree to the Bill of Rights as a compromise to gain the support of reluctant states in the ratification of the Constitution.

The inclusion of a Bill of Rights was a key demand of the Anti-Federalists during the ratification process of the United States Constitution. The Anti-Federalists argued that without a Bill of Rights explicitly protecting individual liberties, the new federal government would have too much power and could potentially infringe upon the rights of the people. The Federalists, who supported the Constitution, initially did not see the need for a Bill of Rights. However, they recognized the importance of gaining the support of the Anti-Federalists and securing the ratification of the Constitution. As a result, they agreed to add a Bill of Rights as a compromise. The Bill of Rights, which consists of the first ten amendments to the Constitution, was added shortly after the Constitution was ratified. This compromise helped to alleviate the concerns of the Anti-Federalists and ensure the broader support necessary for the Constitution's adoption.

What is your reaction to Fountain's comment that he "doesn't like to talk about it, because it makes people feel bad"?

Answers

Answer:

(So this may not be super accurate because I am not sure what story this question is from nor what is the situation happening.)

I personally think Fountain's comment is valid and he a point on which he doesn't want to speak about (whatever is happening.) The situation obviously made Fountain upset and also the people around him so Fountain doesn't talk about it. Maybe he also felt that it would make people feel bad because of previous encounters where he/she/they told someone about what happened and they felt bad.

Answer:

1.  Describe the Sumerian invention that you think is most important and then back up your answer with at least 2 supporting details explaining how or why this invention changed people’s lives.

The Sumerian invention that I believe is most important is the invention of Cuneiform, an ancient system of writing. Cuneiform was first developed in 3500-3000 BCE by the ancient Sumerians of Mesopotamia. There are many reasons why this invention was so important. Cuneiform writing was used to write stories, letters, and myths. As well as that, it was used to record a variety of information  such as temple activities, business, and trade.

2.  Suppose you lived in Babylon during Hammurabi’s reign. Do you think his Code of Laws was fair? Explain why or why not using at least 2 supporting details that back up your answer.

Hammurabi’s Code of Laws was a collection of 282 rules and punishments that were carved into a massive black stone stele (pillar). I believe that Hammurabi’s Code of Laws was very unfair and the punishments included were too harsh. For example in Law #22, “If any one is committing a robbery and is caught, then he shall be put to death.” This law is unfair because rather than killing someone for a crime like this, we should have given a lesser punishment. Another law that was very unfair was #195. This stated that “If a son strikes his father, his hands shall be hewn off.” This gave the government too much power over the punishments of crimes.

3. Describe the importance of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers to the Mesopotamian by listing at least 3 things these rivers gave them.

The Tigris and Euphrates Rivers both were of great importance to the Mesopotamian. Both rivers were used for water supply, irrigation for crops, and were also important for transportation and trade. The Tigris and Euphrates rivers made the soil of Mesopotamia perfect for growing crops. Mesopotamians invented an irrigation system which brought water to their crops. During this time, Mesopotamia had few dependable resources. People used the Rivers to trade excessive amounts of crops to get many of the resources they needed.

Choosing an Effective Rebuttal

Argument: People should travel to Mars because only human explorers can answer many important questions about the planet.

Counterclaim: Robots can collect data and study Mars. Robots have already discovered ice below the planet’s surface.

Based on the argument and counterclaim, which statement is an effective rebuttal?

It would be much better to have the human explorers even though robots have been helpful.
Research shows that space travel can still have dangerous side effects.
NASA researchers have shown that humans are faster than robots and make quicker decisions.

Answers

The statement "NASA researchers have shown that humans are faster than robots and make quicker decisions" is an effective rebuttal to the counterclaim. It directly addresses the argument by highlighting a specific advantage that human explorers have over robots in the context of studying Mars. By emphasizing the speed and decision-making capabilities of humans, it suggests that human explorers would be more efficient and effective in answering the important questions about the planet.

The statement "NASA researchers have shown that humans are faster than robots and make quicker decisions" is an effective rebuttal.

This rebuttal counters the counterclaim by emphasizing the unique capabilities of human explorers. By highlighting the advantage of human speed and decision-making, it implies that there are certain aspects of Mars exploration where humans have a distinct advantage over robots.

It suggests that relying solely on robots might result in slower progress and potentially miss out on valuable opportunities for discovery and exploration. Therefore, this statement supports the argument that human explorers are necessary to answer important questions about Mars that robots alone cannot address.
