how do i go about finding x° and ycm, please?
I've tried Sine Rule & Cosine Rule... I thought i had done it correctly until i worked out the angles added up to much higher than 180° so it cannot be correct... can anyone help?
From the solution;
x = 62.62°
y = 8.9 cm
What is the sine rule?The sine rule (also known as the law of sines) is a mathematical formula that relates the sides and angles of a triangle. Specifically, it relates the ratios of the lengths of the sides of a triangle to the sine of the opposite angles.
By the use of the sine rule;
a/Sin A = c/Sin C
Sin C = cSin A/a
C = Sin-1(cSin A/a)
C = Sin-1(7.8 * sin 66.4/9.2)
C = 50.98°
B = 180 - (50.98° + 66.4)
B = 62.62°
Then;
a/Sin A = b/Sin B
9.2/Sin66.4 = b/Sin 62.62
b = 9.2 * Sin 62.62/Sin66.4
b = 9.2 * 0.89/0.92
b = 8.9 cm

On a math test there are multiple choice questions worth 4 points and open ended questions worth 6 points. Mr pills' first period class won a competition. and each student has 10 extra credit points added to their test score.
a. If Mai answered 13 mu tipple choice questions correctly and earned a total score of 92. how many open ended questions did she answer correctly?
b. If priya answered 4 open ended questions correctly and earned a total score of 94,how many multiple choice questions did she answer correctly?
c. Write an expression that will represent a students' score in first period who answers m multiple choice questions and e open ended correctly
A: Mai answered 5 open-ended questions correctly,
B: Priya answered 15 multiple-choice questions correctly,
C: expression for the condition is y = 10 + 4a + 6b.
What is a linear equation?Each term in a linear equation has an exponent of 1, and when this algebraic equation is graphed, it always produces a straight line. It is called a "linear equation" for this reason.
Both linear equations with one variable and those with two variables exist.
Given points on each multiple choice question = 4
points on each open-ended question = 6
extra credit for winners = 10 points
A. If Mai answered 13 multiple-choice questions correctly and earned a total score of 92,
the total score of multiple choice questions = 13*4
the total score of multiple choice questions = 52
score left = 92 - 52 - 10 (reducing 10 for extra points)
score left = 30
open-ended questions she answers correctly = 30/6
open-ended questions she answers correctly = 5
B: If Priya answered 4 open-ended questions correctly and earned a total score of 94,
the total score of open-ended questions = 4*6
the total score of open-ended questions = 24
the score left = 94 - 24 - 10 (reducing 10 for extra points)
score left = 60
multiple choice questions she answers correctly = 60/4
multiple choice questions she answers correctly = 15
C: an expression that will represent a student's score in first period,
let y be the total score,
a be the number of multiple choice questions answered,
the total score of multiple choice questions = 4a
and b be the number of open-ended questions answered,
the total score of open-ended questions = 6b
expression is,
y = 10 + 4a + 6b (adding 10 for extra points)
Hence Mai answered 5 open-ended questions correctly,
Priya answered 15 multiple-choice questions correctly,
and expression is y = 10 + 4a + 6b.

If 5b = 6a + 16 and 9a = 7b - 20, then what are the values of a and b?
9514 1404 393
Answer:
(a, b) = (4, 8)
Step-by-step explanation:
Writing both equations in general form, we have ...
6a -5b +16 = 0
9a -7b +20 = 0
__
We can make a little array of the numbers in the equations:
\(\left[\begin{array}{cccc}6&-5&16&6\\9&-7&20&9\end{array}\right]\)
Note that the first column is repeated at the end.
Now, we can "cross multiply" and form the differences of products in adjacent columns:
d1 = (6)(-7) -(9)(-5) = 3 . . . . . . left 2 columns
d2 = (-5)(20) -(-7)(16) = 12 . . . . . middle 2 columns
d3 = (16)(9) -(20)(6) = 24 . . . . . right 2 columns
Then the solutions to these equations are the solutions to ...
1/d1 = a/d2 = b/d3
a = d2/d1 = 12/3 = 4
b = d3/d1 = 24/3 = 8
The values of a and b are 4 and 8, respectively.

There are a number of ways to solve linear equations. This is similar to what you would get by doing "elimination". It is also similar to Cramer's Rule and Vedic math techniques. The number of math operations is about the same*. Once you learn the technique, it is fairly fast and requires no decision-making. My other favorite method is using a graphing calculator.
__
* This method uses 6 multiplications, 3 subtractions, 2 divisions. In the general case of "elimination", where the coefficients are not "nice" (as here), you would perform 7 multiplications, 4 subtractions and 2 divisions. This method is less work when the coefficients don't cancel easily.
income from operations of $231,000. In addition, it received interest income of $23,100 and received dividend income of $29,700 from another corporation. Finally, it paid $11,000 of interest income to its bondholders and paid $45,000 of dividends to its common stockholders. The firm's federal tax rate is 21%. What is the firm's federal income tax? Do not round intermediate calculations. Round your answer to the nearest dollar.
The firm's federal income tax is $57,168.
To calculate the firm's federal income tax, we need to determine its taxable income first. Taxable income is calculated by subtracting deductions from the firm's total income.
In this case, the firm's total income consists of income from operations, interest income, and dividend income.
Total income:
Income from operations = $231,000
Interest income = $23,100
Dividend income = $29,700
Total income = $231,000 + $23,100 + $29,700 = $283,800
Next, we deduct expenses from the total income. In this case, the only relevant expense is the interest paid to bondholders:
Total expenses = Interest paid to bondholders = $11,000
Taxable income = Total income - Total expenses = $283,800 - $11,000 = $272,800
Now, we can calculate the federal income tax by applying the federal tax rate of 21% to the taxable income:
Federal income tax = Taxable income * Federal tax rate
Federal income tax = $272,800 * 0.21 = $57,168
Therefore, the firm's federal income tax is $57,168.

Answer:
Step-by-step explanation:
Lets illustrate one method by an example:
Find the square root of 12:
The 2 perfect squares around 12 are 3^2 and 4^2 so the square root of 12 is going to be between 3 and 4.
We might predict it to be 3.5
If we square 3.5 we get 12.25 so we are pretty close.
It is less than 3.5 so we might try 3.4 .
Working 3.4^2 out we get 11.56 so we know the square root is between 3.4 and 3.5 Since 12.25 is closer to 12 than 11.56, the square root is closer to 3.5 than 3.4 so we might try 3.46.
This is called the method of trial and improvement and requires you to do long multiplications.

The quotient of z₁ by z₂ in trigonometric form is:
7/21 * (cos(584°) + i sin(584°))
To find the quotient of z₁ by z₂ in trigonometric form, we'll express both complex numbers in trigonometric form and then divide them.
Let's represent z₁ in trigonometric form as z₁ = r₁(cosθ₁ + isinθ₁), where r₁ is the magnitude of z₁ and θ₁ is the argument of z₁.
We have:
z₁ = 7(cos(577°) + i sin(577°))
Now, let's represent z₂ in trigonometric form as z₂ = r₂(cosθ₂ + isinθ₂), where r₂ is the magnitude of z₂ and θ₂ is the argument of z₂.
From the given information, we have:
z₂ = 21(cos(-7°) + i sin(-77°))
To find the quotient, we divide z₁ by z₂:
z₁ / z₂ = (r₁/r₂) * [cos(θ₁ - θ₂) + i sin(θ₁ - θ₂)]
Substituting the given values, we have:
z₁ / z₂ = (7/21) * [cos(577° - (-7°)) + i sin(577° - (-7°))]
= (7/21) * [cos(584°) + i sin(584°)]
The quotient of z₁ by z₂ in trigonometric form is:
7/21 * (cos(584°) + i sin(584°))
Option C, 21(cos(-7°) + i sin(-77°)), is not the correct answer as it does not represent the quotient of z₁ by z₂.
