What were 3 major causes and effects of the Great Depression?

Answers

The three major causes of the Great Depression were the stock market crash of 1929, the collapse of the global banking system, and the imposition of protective tariffs.

The first major cause of the Great Depression was the stock market crash of 1929. This event severely damaged investor confidence and caused the US stock market to lose nearly 90 percent of its value. This resulted in a sharp decline in investment and reduced consumer spending. This, in turn, caused a decrease in economic activity, resulting in mass layoffs and a dramatic increase in unemployment.

The second major cause of the Great Depression was the collapse of the global banking system. Banks had invested heavily in the stock market, and when it crashed, they were unable to repay their loans. This led to a wave of bank failures, which further exacerbated the economic downturn.

The third major cause of the Great Depression was the imposition of protective tariffs. The US government implemented tariffs to protect domestic industries from foreign competition, but this resulted in a decrease in international trade and a decrease in economic activity.

A Day I Would Not Love to Remember A day I would not love to remember is one of the most disastrous days in my life. It happened one sunny afternoon when I was on my way home from school. That day, I had finished my exams, and I was excited to go home and rest. I took a public service vehicle, and I sat next to a lady who was carrying a huge bag of groceries. I did not know that I had just boarded my worst nightmare.

Approximately 20 minutes into the ride, the car was hit from the back by a speeding lorry. I hit my head hard on the back seat, and I felt dizzy. When I woke up, I found myself in the hospital. My mother and father were there, and they looked worried. I tried to get up, but I was too weak to do so. I later learned that the lady sitting next to me had died on the spot, and I was lucky to be alive.

The driver and conductor of the car had sustained minor injuries, but they were okay. The incident had happened because the lorry driver had fallen asleep on the wheel. That day changed my life. I never looked at life the same way again. I had a renewed appreciation for life and the people around me.

The incident had left me with an injury that took a long time to heal. I had to miss my classes for weeks, and it took me months before I could resume my normal activities. The memories of that day are still vivid in my mind, and they will remain with me for the rest of my life.

Whenever I think about the incident, I feel a mixture of emotions. I feel lucky to be alive, but I also feel sad for the lady who lost her life that day. I also feel angry at the lorry driver who caused the accident. If only he had taken a break to rest, that day would have been a different story.

Nonetheless, the incident taught me some valuable life lessons. It taught me to appreciate life, to value my family and friends, and to live every day as if it were my last. It also taught me to be careful on the road and to follow traffic rules. I learned that life is fragile and that it can be taken away from us in a split second.

Therefore, it is important to treasure every moment that we have.

In conclusion, a day I would not love to remember is the day I was involved in a road accident. It was a day that changed my life and taught me some valuable lessons. While it was a tragic day, it made me appreciate life more, and it made me a better person.

Mason coaches a swim team for $15 per hour and works at a printing shop for $18 per hour. He wants to earn at least $125per week but cannot work for more than 20 hours a week. Writes a graph linear system of inequalities to represent this situation. Determine one possible solution to Mason's problem. Let the number of hours coaching = x and the number of hours at the printing shop = y.

Mason coaches a swim team for $15 per hour and works at a printing shop for $18 per hour. He wants to

Answers

One possible solution to Mason's problem is the point where the two lines intersect, which is approximately (5.6, 14.4).

This means that Mason should work about 5.6 hours coaching and 14.4 hours at the printing shop to earn at least $125 per week without working more than 20 hours.

Let's begin by defining the variables x and y as the number of hours Mason spends coaching and working at the printing shop, respectively.

To earn at least $125 per week, we can write the first inequality:

15x + 18y ≥ 125

This means that the total amount earned from coaching and working at the printing shop must be greater than or equal to $125.

To ensure that Mason does not work for more than 20 hours a week, we can write the second inequality:

x + y ≤ 20

This means that the total number of hours Mason works cannot exceed 20.

the linear system of inequalities to represent Mason's situation is:

15x + 18y ≥ 125

x + y ≤ 20
