I believe it is best if Charlie advocates for reducing speeds when there are whales. As said, lowering speeds would make it easier for boats to avoid whales and hopefully make strikes less harmful if they do occur. Given that whales don’t always stay in the same place, it does not matter if we expand our shipping lanes. Because at any time, the same thing could occur.

Answers

Answer:

Due to the facts that lowering speeds would make it easier for the boats to avoid whales, I think it would be best for Charlie to advocate the reduction of speed near whales. This could lower the risks of strikes or collisions and if a strike does occur it can lower that level of danger. This could be expanded and shipping lanes could be expanded due to whales not having only one habitat and their movement during migration.

Read the passage from the website: www.growingnation.org

After the American Revolution, the newly formed United States realized that it lacked room to grow. The states created in the Declaration of Independence in 1776 were limited in size. As the population increased, more people were competing for the same amount of land. Consequently, land became more expensive, and overcrowding became an issue. The thirteen states were bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and the territories of other nations. If the United States was going to have a future, it needed to increase its territory.

Read the passage from the following website: www.expandingcountries.edu/unitedstates/louisianapurchase

The United States was determined to expand west. Americans believed in Manifest Destiny, or their divine right to expand and spread democracy. They wanted to go west and live freely without the restrictions of the strict laws in the East. Other issues in the East included limited religious freedom and a lack of jobs. The promise of open land, new jobs, and religious freedom drew people further into the continent. This new land contained untapped resources, such as forests, plains, and ore. When gold was discovered in California, people were eager to head west. The West became synonymous with adventures and new opportunities. However, in order to go west, the United States needed to own the surrounding land.

Which passage best summarizes the ideas from both texts?

a
After the American Revolution, the newly formed United States realized that it lacked room to grow. If the United States was going to have a future, it needed to increase its territory. The United States was fascinated with the idea of going west. Americans believed in Manifest Destiny, or their divine right to expand and spread democracy. Other issues in the East included few jobs and limited religious freedom. The promise of open land, new jobs, and religious freedom drew people further into the continent. This new land contained untapped resources, such as forests, plains, and ore.

b
Americans believed that it was their divine responsibility to spread liberty to The West. Some people moved westward to freely practice their religious beliefs. One of the largest attractions of The West was the vast amount of land and numerous natural resources, including gold.

c
The United States wanted to move westward. After the Declaration of Independence, the country realized that it was hemmed in on every side. British North America was to the North, and Spanish Florida was to the south. Not wanting to go into the Atlantic, the only option left was west.

d
The United States wanted to move westward to fulfill their Manifest Destiny, experience religious freedoms, and obtain more land and natural resources. Americans believed that it was their divine responsibility to spread liberty to The West. Some people moved westward to freely practice their religious beliefs. One of the largest attractions of The West was the vast amount of land. There were also numerous natural resources, including gold. Land, natural resources, religious freedom, and Manifest Destiny were all reasons why the United States looked westward.

Answers

Answer: A

Explanation:

The first passage explains that problems resulted from the limited land the U.S. had, and that the U.S. decided that if they had more land, then the country would have a future. The second passage proves this, by stating how new resources were found, more freedom, and new opportunities for people. So, when the California Gold Rush struck, many people moved from the overcrowded East to become gold prospectors in the West. This change led to the U.S.’s future, as people were now less likely to revolt against the limited religious freedoms. If the U.S. did not buy the land, then not only would people revolt, they would overcrowd and negatively affect the economy.

Sports events are always a great source of excitement, especially during the summer months. One such event that I had the privilege of witnessing was the final match of the Wimbledon Tennis Championship.

The final match was between two legendary players, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer. It was a highly anticipated match that drew a massive crowd from around the world, including me.

The match was incredibly intense, with both players putting on a remarkable display of skill and athleticism. The rallies were long and grueling, with each point being fiercely contested.

The crowd was on the edge of their seats, cheering and gasping at every turn of the game.

In the end, it was Djokovic who emerged as the victor, after an epic five-set battle. The atmosphere was electric as he lifted the trophy, and the spectators gave him a standing ovation.

Overall, the Wimbledon Tennis Championship was an unforgettable experience, and the final match was the highlight of the tournament.

Submit your three or four-paragraph open letter about a current issue in your school or community that expresses your position on the topic and provides two claims and four pleces of supporting evidence (key facts, examples, detalls). Make it clear who you are addressing in the letter and what you hope to accomplish.

Answers

Answer: this is gonna be a long one lol

Explanation:

There are lots of issues in our community and in our schools, but one problem that seems to be in both is the fight for equality. We all want to be heard and understood but for some, it might be harder than others. This isn't just for one specific group it is for many and all.

Everyday, when you look at your phone or even just outside at the people what do you notice? They all look different, maybe the same in some ways but different in most. But physical features are just the beginning because underneath we all are unique and special. Some people embrace their uniqueness, but a lot hide it away in fear of unacceptance. For example, the fight for equal rights in black citizens, even though they say that fight ended a long time ago we can't ignore the fact that they are still looked at differently. Why? Who knows, and no, not everyone is like this but that doesn't make it easier for them. Another example, over 28.9% of black citizens are living below the poverty threshold as opposed to 18% white americans. Isn't that crazy? This is evidence that supports the thought about black citizens not having equal rights.

I hope that this has opened your mind to this issue. I want equality for all and a place where no matter what your skin looks like, where you were raised and even what happened long long ago in the early stages of this nation, you can live happily and to the fullest. We as a community can do our part and make this community a free, accepting, and fair place for us all to live.

Here is an example of an open letter:

To the Principal and the School Board,

I am writing to express my concern about the recent decision to cancel the annual school trip due to budget cuts. I believe that this decision is unfair and detrimental to the students’ learning and well-being. I urge you to reconsider this decision and find alternative ways to fund the trip.

The school trip is a valuable opportunity for students to explore new places, learn new things, and bond with their classmates and teachers. It is also a reward for their hard work and achievements throughout the year. The trip helps students develop important skills such as curiosity, creativity, collaboration, and communication. It also exposes them to different cultures, perspectives, and experiences that enrich their knowledge and understanding of the world.

By canceling the trip, you are depriving the students of these benefits and sending a message that their education and happiness are not a priority. You are also breaking a tradition that has been cherished by many generations of students and teachers. The trip is something that the students look forward to and prepare for all year long. It is a source of motivation and excitement for them.

I understand that the school is facing financial challenges and that you have to make difficult decisions. However, I think that there are other ways to save money without sacrificing the quality of education and the well-being of the students. For example, you could reduce unnecessary expenses such as printing costs, office supplies, or catering services. You could also seek donations or sponsorships from local businesses or organizations that support education. You could also organize fundraising events or activities that involve the students, parents, and teachers.

I hope that you will take my letter into consideration and reconsider your decision to cancel the school trip. I believe that the trip is a worthwhile investment that will benefit the students in many ways. I also believe that the school community can work together to find solutions to overcome the financial challenges. Please do not let the budget cuts ruin this valuable opportunity for the students.

Sincerely,

A concerned student

Children who participate in sports are developing rapidly in sports skills, sportsmanship, and psychologically, but does this come from organized sports are just nature’s process. Children develop emotional and social benefits from participating in sports. Children experience character and leadership development through peer relations leading to an increase in self-esteem and a decrease in anxiety levels.Children will get opportunities to experience positive and negative emotions throughout their practice and games trials. It is important for the coach to understand the “psychology of youth sports and physical activity participation” .

When kids are participating in a sport it gives them great social interaction. This slows them to be successful in the future with making friends. When a child plays a sport it also teaches them to multi task because usually a child has to keep up with school if you want to play in a game. Think back to the interest rates you wrote down for federal loans inResource #6. How did those interest rates compare to those you saw forprivate loans in the 2nd article you read? Were the private loan interestrates surprising to you? Why or why not? Voluntary agencies, foundations, professional organizations and service groups are all considered _________ health agencies Program Specification: Build a hash table using chaining as the collision resolution technique. Insertions into the hash table will correspond to declarations of variables and values in a program, searches will be requests for the value of a variable. Some variables will be local and have a narrow scope while some variables will be global. The program will take input from a file, another program written in the omnipotent programming language BORG (Bionicly Omnipotent Resistance Grinders) and generate output from this program. The BORG language has the following commands (keywords): 1. START-FINISH blocks. Indicating different scopes. 2. COM - Single line comments: Text should be ignored if on the same line 3. VAR varName - Variable Declaration, adds "varName" to the hash table. 4. variable = expression - Assignment statements, ie GEORGE = 122. Find GEORGE in the hash table and assign 122 to it. 5.++ - increment operator, syntax: VARIABLE ++ 6. --- decrement operator, syntax: VARIABLE -- 7. expressions, expressions are limited to unary and binary arithmetic, or variable names 8. supported operators: + - /* % *(plus, minus, divide, multiple, modulo, exponent) 9. PRINT - syntax PRINT expression. If the expression is a variable, and this variable is not in scope, then an error message indicating unknown variable x at line number y. The value printed if there is a variable in scope should be the variable with the closest scope. 10. Errors - other than the print statements, our interpreter will not be responsible for detecting errors, syntax errors should be disregarded if encountered, assume that the source file is correct. Our hash function: sum the ordinal values of the characters of the variable multiplied by their position in the string (1- indexing), then taking the modulo by TABLESIZE. 1. The variable ABC = (65 * 1 + 66 * 2 +67 * 3) % TABLESIZE All tokens are separated by one space or a new line. Output: for this assignment, run your interpreter on this sample source program as well as a program of your own, and turn it the output from both, as well as the source code from your BORG program as well as source code of the assignment and its executable. Zip is good.
