reflect on your process or performance on this multiple-choice practice. choose one of the following questions to answer in a written response of approximately 150-200 words. make sure you answer the question thoroughly and provide detail from the questions and/or the passages as necessary. which multiple-choice strategies did you apply as you were taking this quiz? do you think you answered more questions correctly as a result, or did the strategies help you move through the quiz more quickly? explain why or why not. describe your process. choose two questions you feel confident you answered correctly. identify the questions and describe the process you used to answer each. explain why the answer you selected for each question is the correct or best answer. choose one question you think you might have missed. describe what was challenging about the question or answer choices. which answer did you end up choosing? what led you to conclude it was the best answer? describe your process in arriving at your answer, including any test-taking techniques you used.

Answers

As I was taking this multiple-choice quiz, I applied a few different strategies to help me answer the questions correctly. One strategy I used was to carefully read through each question and all of the answer choices before making a selection.

I find that this helps me to better understand what the question is asking and to eliminate any obviously incorrect answer choices.

Another strategy I used was to pay attention to any clues or hints that were provided in the question or in the passages. For example, if the question included words like "always" or "never," I knew that these were strong indicators that I needed to choose an answer that was absolute and not qualified in any way.

Overall, I think these strategies helped me to answer more questions correctly and to move through the quiz more quickly. By taking the time to carefully read and understand each question, I was able to eliminate incorrect answer choices and narrow my focus to the most likely correct answer.

Two questions that I feel confident I answered correctly were:

Which of the following best describes the main idea of the passage?

For this question, I carefully read through the passage and identified the central theme or message. I then looked at the answer choices and selected the one that most closely aligned with the main idea of the passage. I chose this answer because it accurately captured the main idea and included key details from the passage.

According to the passage, which of the following is NOT true?

For this question, I read through the answer choices and selected the one that was not supported by the information in the passage. I knew that this was the correct answer because it was the only choice that was not directly supported by the information in the passage.

One question that I think I might have missed was:

Which of the following is the best definition of the word "abstemious"?

This question was challenging for me because I was not familiar with the word "abstemious." I tried to use context clues from the passage to determine its meaning, but I was still unsure.

In the end, I had to make an educated guess and choose the answer that I thought was most likely to be correct. I chose the answer "moderate in eating and drinking" because it seemed to fit the context of the passage. However, upon reflection, I now realize that the correct answer was actually "abstaining from food and drink."

What would you do if there wasn’t school anymore? has to be atleast 6 sentences

Answers

And it’s not hard to find them. Why? For most people in developing countries, there was no schooling until 1 or 2 generations before us. In fact, my grandparents are the first people to go to school in my whole big family. So for me to see how life is without school, simply “listen back” to history. And these are the consequences -

Education depends heavily on parents - means there are much more parent-children bonding than there is now which is good, however! This means there is no time for parents to totally “pursue career options” as then they would need to ensure good education for their children before they can be left alone to work.

People start working at a younger age, and hence become experts at a younger age as well - This is because of factor no.1 . Now western pedagogists and psychologists would say this is not good for the children mental development etc. But the expertise - I mean, when is the last time you see a 23-year old managing 10 acres of rice field? You can have those kind of people in rural Indonesia still. Also, I am a fan of cooking and many a great old chefs right now were young & homeless back after World War II, and just started out at the bottom washing dishes in restaurants. See how that got them to where they are now.

People with Creative Aspirations can dwelve into their passions at a younger age as well, with less social pressures - well pressure from family or parent expectation there will always be, but at least not so much on peer pressures.

An advantage for people who are street smart, who are critical thinking but won’t play by the rule book - the current (which is also, 3-century old) schooling system rewards people who follow the textbook and rules. While we see how many successful people at points in their lives use hacks to overcome obstacles they can’t clear when playing with rule books.

And those street smart people would be the ones who change career fields and move up/down the Social Ladder, because the others are mostly “successors” to what their parents did - easiest example is my grandfather. He saw the Indonesian Independence War (1945–1949) as his opportunity to finally not work in the ricefields of his village anymore. He went to Yogyakarta which was the capital at that time, get some connections and then get university degree as well as a position in a State Department. Voila.

The best part of all… There would be no (or minimum) such current problems such as “youth unemployment” or “Humanities degrees that are useless. When people really love a field and they want to do jobs related to it (when they don’t live anymore with their parents of course, before that, parents will dictate what they should do), people would simply go to experts or people who already do the job, do trainings, train for years, and get that job. Just like what humanity have been doing for most of its history.

Aside from these, there are definitely 1000 negative things that come out of the absence of school. But hey, like I said in the beginning, I’m trying to bring out positivity!

If there wasn’t any school I would allow myself to explore the world and life more. I would travel, find my inner self, and live life to the fullest. School drags us down a lot and without it we would be partially stress free which can help with mental health a lot. I would find a true passion, something i am good at, rather than doing a profession that i will dread to go to everyday just because i was told to choose my profession at the age of 17 in school.

I agree with the commandment “Thou shalt not bear false witness.” Bearing false witness is a serious offense, as it disrupts the trust and honesty between people, which is essential for a healthy and vibrant society.

By lying, individuals can inflict serious damage on others, and the truth can be distorted. Additionally, lying can be used to manipulate and control others, which is a form of abuse. When people lie, it undermines their integrity and their ability to build meaningful relationships.

Furthermore, lying can be used to conceal wrongdoings and evade responsibility for our actions, and this can lead to further injustice. Bearing false witness is an affront to the truth, and it can have far-reaching and devastating effects.

Therefore, I stand by this commandment, as it is an important cornerstone of morality and justice.

Eddie cursed his father in the book "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" by Mitch Albom.
Eddie, the protagonist, had a strained and difficult relationship with his father, who was an abusive and emotionally distant alcoholic.

Due to his father's behavior, Eddie grew up feeling unloved, neglected, and resentful. The curse Eddie refers to is a metaphor for the unresolved anger and bitterness he carried towards his father throughout his life.
Eddie's father worked at Ruby Pier, a seaside amusement park, and Eddie ended up working there as well, feeling trapped in a dead-end job.

This only fueled his resentment towards his father, as he believed his life could have been different if not for the influence and decisions of his father.
As the story unfolds, Eddie meets five people in heaven, each of whom teaches him a lesson about his life on Earth.

Through these encounters, Eddie learns to understand his father's actions, the impact they had on him, and how they shaped his life. He comes to realize that his father's actions were a result of his own pain and suffering, rather than malicious intent.

Spain's motive to send Columbus to the Caribbean islands was purely to expand on it.  He referred to it as the "West Indies" and the people there Indians.  If he had complete freedom to explore the world, he probably would have explored other places, or places he already knew about.  That would have just made him a traveler, not a person fit for world history.  I think it would have just made him travel to where Asia would be, or a very specific location that he was looking for because those were the discovered places.  California wouldn't have been founded, USA wouldn't have been founded, and all the people and what we know would be altered if it weren't for Columbus's expedition.

The correct answer is B. The use of dialect in speech originated in the realist era.

Dialect is a form of language specific to a region or group. Dialect conveys the specific words and patterns of speech -- as a result, it is a very realistic technique. Dialect allows the reader to experience the way a character would speak in real life.

Heroic characters, tragic themes, and imaginary settings appeared much earlier and therefore are not realist techniques.
